Chaitanya, a rural financial services company, aims to improve the lives of low-income families through the provision of financial services. Even after being acquired, its model continues to focus on reaching traditionally underserved rural communities and shaping the future of micro-businesses through the nexus of financial services, innovation, and technology.

With over half a million customers as of 2021, Chaitanya is working to further expand its reach throughout rural India and effectively serve the needs of micro-entrepreneurs and their communities. Its vision is to become a Pan India Rural Finance Company.

One of Chaitanya’s founders was a former S3IDF employee who used his in-field experiences working with micro-entrepreneurs to shape Chaitanya’s model. S3IDF’s equity investment, alongside other investors, helped Chaitanya grow its operations to target additional communities whose members have traditionally struggled to access formal financial services and who have shied away from the formal banking sector.
