FPC provision added to the Companies Act
In 2003 a provision for setting up Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) is added to the 1956 Companies Act, which identifies FPCs as the most appropriate institutional form around which to mobilize farmers to build their capacity and collectively leverage production and marketing strength
